HOUSE RULES

Most people will spend more waking time at Pentire House then they would at home, so we want it to feel like a home away from home.

Here are the written, unwritten rules of Pentire House.

Desks & Workspace

As a member of Pentire House you will have a dedicated space, access to meeting rooms and communal areas, here are a few bits on etiquette:

  • Your Desk & Locker - you will have a dedicated desk and locker, if you are unsure of where yours is please ask. Please keep all personal items at your desk or locker, any items left in communal spaces will get cleared out weekly. Please keep your desk clean and tidy and respect others space around you.

  • Communal Space - there are 3 sofa areas, one on each floor, please feel free to use any of them if you want to sit soft or take a break. Please make yourself at home and just tidy up after yourself and leave the place as you found it.

  • Meeting & Phone Rooms - if you do want to book a meeting room or phone room, please do through the coherent app and don’t overrun as another member might be on time and have an important meeting/call! If you are unsure how to book a room please ask.

  • Printer - we do have a printer on deck 3 that anyone is welcome to use. We just ask for 20p a sheet in the pot to keep the ink flowing.

Dogs

Being dog-friendly is a big part of Pentire House, below are some rules around our 4 legged friends:

  • Doggy Passport - dogs are allowed, but there is a limit, we don’t want to become a kennel! We only allow 3 dogs max per floor (2 max for the top floor). If you are looking to bring your dog in you will need to ask first, if there is space we will issue a doggy passport.

  • There is an extra charge for having a 4-legged member of your family join the workspace, this is £15 per month per pooch. Unfortunately, there is extra cleaning after a sandy walk or some hair shedding, so we would ask for a little contribution to the extra cleaning.

  • Etiquette, we would ask that you keep your pooches close to your desk, if they are prone to exploring around the space then please do pop them on a lead and off of the furniture.

  • All doggos must be well trained, we reserve the right to revoke a doggy passport with a 3-strike rule. If we have multiple complaints you will get 2 warnings, 3rd strike and they’re out.

The Kitchens

We have 2 kitchens available for use by everyone in the space, please treat it like home and clear up after yourself, here are a few rules on the kitchen:

  • The Dishwasher - please put all dirty dishes, cups and cutlery in the dishwasher. When full please pop a tablet in and turn it on (if you are unsure how just drop us a message) and similarly when clean please put things away. It takes about the same amount of time as the kettle boiling! We will endeavour to put it on every evening and unload in the morning, but it’s a team game :)

  • Fridges - please feel free to store your lunch in the fridge and use the microwave if needed. We will clean the fridges out every couple of weeks, please try to avoid storing too much stuff in there so there is space for everyone’s food. With the microwave and George Forman, please make sure you clean it after use.

  • Coffee Machine - there are 2 machines in the space, a beginner one on Deck 1 (just a button) and an advanced coffee machine (fancy coffee & frother) on Deck 3. Coffee is included if it is running low just let us know and we’ll stock it up if you are unsure of how to use the machine just drop us a message and ask. Please make sure to wipe the machine after use and leave it as you found it. We also provide Yorkshire Tea, milk and oat milk. If you would prefer to bring in your own tea you are more than welcome.

The Cleaner

We have a cleaner that comes in twice a week to the space, here is what to expect:

  • Mid Week Clean - clean of both kitchens, hoover of all floors, clean bathrooms, top up supplies, take out bins

  • Weekend Clean - deeper clean, going through all bathrooms thoroughly, all kitchens, hoover and mop, top up supplies, take out bins

  • The cleaner is here to make sure the whole workspace is clean, but you are responsible for your desk. She won’t want to move things around on your desk or touch your personal items, so if you do want your desk wiped it would have to be clear. If you have any comments or complaints about the cleaning please get in touch with us directly.

The Showers

For the lunchtime surfers and cold water swimmers, the showers are available for anyone in the space, here are some of the rules:

  • The Showers - there are two shower rooms available, both with a drying rack. Please help yourself to a nice hot shower. When finished please use the floor squeegy to dry the floors and make it nice and tidy for the next person.

  • Drying Racks - You are welcome to leave your wetsuit or swimmers on the drying rack after a surf, please try not to leave stuff there forever though! Only a limited amount of space for everyone. If we see a wet towel that’s been there for months it might find its way to the bin!

  • Surfboard Rack - We have a surfboard rack in the entrance for anyone who wants to surf at lunch. Similarly please don’t bring your whole quiver in and be respectful of others boards. If you have a favourite board for your lunchtime shred please bring it in and jump in with your mates.

  • Hallway - in general we need to keep the hallway clear and tidy as it is a fire escape for the whole building. So please try not to leave boards or wetsuit bags in the hallway that aren’t in the rack or by your desk.

Whatsapp Group

The social group of the cowork space.

When you join the workspace you will be invited to join the whatsapp group. This will be the main point of communication for the space, to arrange lunchtime swims, after work beers, cowork updates and invites to all events we host.

Please respect everyone on the group and in the workspace, no trolling or hate messages, just a bit of love and respect.

If you have any complaints or questions about the space please message Anthony or Tom directly.

Events

For members and sometimes guests, we will run a range of events throughout the year.

We will be aiming for at least one event per month in the workspace. This will be everything from after-work drinks in The Sink Inn to Supper Clubs to Christmas Parties to Fitness Sessions on Towan Beach.

Everyone is invited and invites will go out through the whatsapp group. If you have an idea for an event for the space that you would like to see happen then get in touch.

Point of Contact

The main point of contact for the workspace is Hayley Newnham.

If you have any questions at all get in touch on email or phone.
